Can you believe it’s already the first day of Spring?? So now it’s time to shake off the winter blues and jump right into spring! It seems like 2017 is finally beginning to pick up the pace, but don’t let your health and wellness goals start slipping now.
Start spring off on the right foot with this essential spring wellness check-list!
This one is obvious, but the first step to your wellness this spring should be to hydrate! I don’t know about you, but I’m much more motivated to exercise and get out and about in the springtime when the weather is nice. So if you’re planning on getting more active as the weather gets nicer, you’ll need to make sure you’re properly hydrated.
We all know winter weather can wreak havoc on our skin. And I’m personally guilty of slacking on my moisturizing routine during the winter because, well, who’s going to notice?? But then the weather starts getting nicer and I realize my skin looks horrible!
Spring is always when I start a rigorous moisturizing routine because I know once summer hits, I don’t want to be caught with dull, dry skin.
We all know that losing an hour of sleep to Daylight Savings Time downright sucks. But at least we get more sunshine! Don’t wait until summer, get out and soak up all that vitamin D! Once spring hits, I always make an excuse (when I have time, of course) to run one more errand or head to the park before I go home for the night just so I can be outside a little longer.
Confession time. I am a seasonal hoarder (that’s probably not even a real thing, but bear with me). I accumulate so. much. crap over the fall and winter months. I also live in a studio apartment, so having a cluttered apartment that’s only 500 sqft is so hectic!
I am a true believer of Spring Cleaning! It’s like shedding everything unnecessary in my life and emerging stress-free and brand new. So de-cluttering is so vital to spring wellness. Spend one good weekend getting rid of everything unnecessary and start fresh this spring! You’ll thank yourself later.
Farmer’s Market, anyone?? Some of the most popular produce is in season during the spring, so take advantage! The biggest wellness tip? Eat well!
Strawberries, asparagus, green beans, mangoes, spinach and so much more! All in season! I mean, why wouldn’t you want to eat fresh this spring?
Get Some Sleep!
While all of the other wellness tips are crucial, you have to round it out with sleep! I know the days are longer and there’s so much more to do in Spring compared to winter, but your body still needs the same amount of sleep as it did in winter. So do yourself a favor and just get some rest this spring.
Besides, with summer around the corner, you don’t want to get burned out before all the summer fun can begin!
