Welcome to month #2 of 2017! If you’ve made New Year’s resolutions, I hope they are going well so far! And if they aren’t, well… join the club.
Personally, I haven’t seen any progress with my New Year goals. I know it’s only been a month, and with most of my resolutions, it’s simply going to take patience before I see any results.
But one goal in particular has left me feeling, quite honestly, frustrated.
My big fitness goal for 2017 is to get back into long distance running, build up my endurance, and lower my times.
While I’ve never been the fastest, I’ve always been a natural runner. I have a knack for being able to jump right back on the track and “run, Forrest, run!”
With that in mind, I decided to set my focus on running a 5K at a decent time. And while I’m slowly working my way back to a 5K endurance, my times are really sluggish!
I decided that maybe I just need to challenge myself a little more so I decided to do a Playlist Challenge!
February 2017 5K Playlist Challenge
So the playlist challenge is simple! Simply finish your run before the music stops! (Told you it was simple! 😉)
And since I’m starting over with my running regimen this year, my personal playlist challenge is 9 songs long for a total of a little over 34 minutes. That’s an average of a little over 11 minutes per mile.
Obviously, for you seasoned, in-shape runners, you may laugh at my goal to try to get my 5K time to 34 1/2 minutes. But for the rest of us novice runners, I hope you enjoy this month’s playlist challenge!
